If you are looking for some fun activities to keep the kids moving and shaking whiles its raining, we have a treat for you! We asked some of our awesome Modern Minders Nannies what their best rainy day activities were. This is what they came up with.

The Classic FORT

Does not matter how old you are, kids and adults both LOVE a good fort. Gather your chairs, tables, pillows, sheets and blankets and get started! The more comfy stuff the better. If you want to get fancy, add some Christmas lights for that extras special twinkle touch. Hours of fun. Thanks Nanny Lizzy for the great idea!

Inside “Drive In”

One of our favorite ideas from the bunch was creating a “drive in” movie theater inside while it was gloomy. This came from on of our awesome Nannies in NCS who is stuck inside with her nanny kidos. If you are lucky enough to have some extra boxes laying around or 5 gallon containers (toddler approved) this is perfect for you. First start by picking your favorite movie (ours is TROLLS 2 at the moment). Next get to work on creating the coolest cars ever out of those boxes. Nanny Molly said she researched with her kids what cars they wanted to create and the rest was history. Lastly set up the cars in row, get your popcorn popped and away you go!

Scavenger Hunt

Everyone loves a good scavenger hunt! Well we do anyway. This idea come to us from Nanny Jenn from LA. She says even if you have only one child this is loads of fun. Jenn found her lists from Pintrest and google search. Here a great link as a resource for you to get started.

Dance Party

Who doesn’t love a party let alone a dance party? This come from Nanny Alex in FL. Everyone loves music and what better way to get the wiggles out then a full on dance PARTY! She makes her nanny kids a playlist on Youtube with language appropriate music and kids videos. She suggest Disney Kids or if the kids are older TicTok is fun, but only if it is monitored and the videos are not posted (parents your choice)

Puppet Making

Everyone has socks and what is easier then making sock puppets. This one comes from Nanny Mary in LA. She says that she has her nanny child act out all the silly stories they have been making up. She even send over a great link to get you started with your very own sock puppets. Don’t worry if you don’t have all the fancy googlie eyes. Sharppie and markets work just fine.
